Chapter 93 You're Not Iron Man

The little girl was clearly still in a state of lingering fear. She walked without the confidence she had before, hunching her shoulders as she went.

At the main entrance, just as Xia Weilan came out, she noticed several cars approaching. A few men in black got out of the cars. They looked fierce and were staring straight at her.

Xia Weilan's heart skipped a beat. She immediately led the little girl to the other side. Just as they took a few steps, they heard the leading man shout:

"Stop!"

Immediately afterwards, several men surrounded Xia Weilan.

Xia Weilan's heart tightened. The man sized her up, then glanced at the little girl with wet clothes, and shouted, "Come with me!"

The man was clearly talking to Xia Weilan and was obviously after her.

Xia Weilan looked at the five or six men surrounding her. They were all tall and burly, not easy opponents for her. She clenched her fists and pretended to be calm as she said:

"Let her go. Whatever it is, come at me."

The man's mission was to deal with Xia Weilan, so he didn't take the little girl seriously. Hearing her words, he readily replied:

"Okay, but you have to come with us to the alley up ahead."

Xia Weilan nodded. "Let's go."

She pushed the little girl out of the encirclement and was escorted by the big men towards the nearby alley. The little girl caught Xia Weilan's eye signal and didn't cry or make a fuss. She just ran back into the hall.

"Little girl, it seems you've offended quite a few people," the leading man said in a deep voice. There was a knife scar on his forehead. He was one of the hooligans that Xia Ruolin had hired to surround and intercept Xia Weilan but had failed before.

"Who sent you?" Xia Weilan asked warily as she stepped back, only to find herself cornered with nowhere to retreat.

"You've offended someone you shouldn't have. Humph," the scar - faced man said. After giving a sharp look, several men attacked Xia Weilan.

Xia Weilan immediately took on a serious look. She struggled to defend herself as the opponents outnumbered her and each had some fighting skills.

During the fight, Xia Weilan lost one of her shoes. Her sideburns were in disarray, and her whole body was covered in cold sweat.

Not far away, a tall and straight man suddenly rushed out. When he saw the frail Xia Weilan being held down by several big men, his cold eyebrows furrowed deeply. Without hesitation, he rushed over in a few steps:

"Let her go!"

As he said this, his hard fist had already slammed into one man's stomach. The man foamed at the mouth and was sent flying to the ground, unable to get up again.

While the men were in a daze, Xia Weilan slipped out like an eel, instantly getting out of their hold. She kicked one of the hooligans in the groin and ran towards Mo Beichen.

"Be careful!" Mo Beichen squinted his eyes as he saw the person rushing towards him. Without thinking, he pulled her into his arms. Immediately afterwards, a heavy blow landed on his arm.

A hooligan holding a stick was excited when he saw he had hit his target. He immediately raised his hand to strike again, but Mo Beichen gave him a round - house kick, hitting him right on the chin. The hooligan fell straight down.

The remaining three men looked at each other warily, eyeing Mo Beichen menacingly.

"Are you okay?" Xia Weilan saw his arm hanging limply like a broken kite. Her heart tightened, and she looked at him anxiously.

Mo Beichen gave her a reassuring smile and then coldly shouted, "Beat them all to disability!"

"Yes!" The few black - clothed men who had just rushed over saw Mo Beichen's injured arm and their faces were filled with murderous intent.

Before long, there were screams like those of a slaughtered pig coming from the alley.

Xia Weilan led Mo Beichen to the car. She stuffed Mo Beichen into the car and then got into the driver's seat. She stepped on the accelerator and drove off:

"Bear with it. I'll take you to the hospital right away!"

Mo Beichen on the side was sweating on his forehead but didn't utter a single sound, as if the injured person wasn't him.

"I'm fine. This little injury is nothing," Mo Beichen said calmly.

Xia Weilan didn't believe him at all. She knew how powerful the blow from that man had been.

A few minutes later, Xia Weilan took Mo Beichen to the hospital. When the medical staff saw that it was Mo Beichen who was injured, they arranged for treatment at the fastest speed.

Xia Weilan originally wanted to go in and wait, but Mo Beichen scolded her and made her stay outside. Then the door was closed.

Time passed bit by bit. Xia Weilan heard no sound from inside and became even more anxious.

Finally, a doctor opened the door and said to Xia Weilan:

"You can go in now."

Inside the room, Mo Beichen's arm was wrapped in a bandage and hung on his neck.

He was sitting on the chair with a calm expression, as if he had no sense of pain. This Mo Beichen made Xia Weilan's eyes immediately turn red with heartache.

"Why are you crying?" Mo Beichen said with a cold face.

"I've experienced worse injuries than this before."

When Mo Beichen and his elder brother Mo Nansheng were young, they were both thrown by their grandfather Mo into the army for training. Later, Mo Beichen was seriously injured once, and only then did Grandfather Mo take him back.

Mo Nansheng, because of his great contributions, had stayed in the army ever since. Grandfather Mo had tried every means but couldn't persuade him to come back. So, he had placed all the burdens of the Mo family on Mo Beichen.

"How can this be a minor injury! You're not Iron Man!" Xia Weilan sniffled.

The doctor on the side walked over and handed some medicine to Xia Weilan:

"Take these back and change the dressing morning and evening. The patient's broken arm has been set. He needs to recuperate next and can't do heavy work."

Hearing this, Xia Weilan quickly said, "Thank you, doctor."

"Let's go," Mo Beichen said. He didn't like it when girls cried, and he didn't know how to comfort her, so he walked out first.

Xia Weilan quickly followed.

Looking at his strong and straight back and the bandage on his arm, all kinds of thoughts welled up in her heart, which finally turned into a sigh.

"Husband... Wait for me," Xia Weilan quickened her pace to catch up.

In the car, Xia Weilan checked Mo Beichen's expression while driving, but found that he had no expression at all.

At this time, Mo Beichen's phone rang. He answered it with his uninjured right hand:

"Speak."

"Mr. Mo, those hooligans have confessed. It was the third young master of the Cheng family who instigated them. He's a somewhat popular male star recently, and before..."

Xia Weilan looked at Mo Beichen's face and couldn't guess who he was talking to. By the time he hung up the phone, the car had just driven into the Splendid Royal Court.

Aunt Tian came out of the kitchen. When she saw Mo Beichen with a cold face and a bandaged arm, her face immediately changed:

"What happened?"

Xia Weilan briefly explained the dietary precautions and then followed Mo Beichen upstairs.
