Chapter 13: Fated Rivals on the Road

Normally, parents would deliberately control their children's diet. Even if junk food isn't completely off - limits, it's not easy for kids to get their hands on it.

Now, with their little cousin as a pretext, they could boldly raid the convenience store without fear. They'd give most of the snacks to their little cousin, and as long as they could get a share, it would be a cause for celebration.

Miaomiao was placed in the shopping cart and quietly watched her cousins go on a shopping spree. By the time they paid and came out, more than half an hour had passed.

The eldest cousin, Lin Chenghui, didn't forget the purpose of this outing. He casually took out some change, started the rocking car, and put Miaomiao on it.

Miaomiao looked at the small car that was fixed in one place but could rock from side to side and make sounds, feeling quite speechless.

Wasn't this just a carousel? It was just an upgraded version, a carousel that could make noises. But even so, it was still just a carousel! Ugh!

She had lost interest in this kind of thing as early as when she was weaned at three!

Miaomiao pouted and felt a bit wronged. She'd left her beloved dad and brothers and thought she'd find something fun, but it turned out to be just a carousel.

It was not fun at all. It was even kind of silly.

"What's wrong? Don't you like it?" Lin Chenghui, the eldest cousin, was the first to notice Miaomiao's unusual mood and asked gently.

"Yeah." The little girl nodded glumly.

The second cousin, Lin Chengshan, quickly offered her a bottle of iced cola. Normally, kids weren't allowed to drink this kind of cold beverage as it could easily upset their stomachs.

But now that their little cousin was on the verge of crying from grievance, they didn't care about that anymore.

There was nothing in this world that a bottle of so - called "happiness water for otakus" couldn't solve. If it couldn't, then two bottles would do.

Sure enough, the little girl curiously stuck out her tongue and took a lick of the cola. Instantly, her eyes curved into crescent moons and she beamed with joy. It was sweet! She liked it!

The cold soda and the unique fizzling feeling of carbonated drinks that she'd never experienced before made the little girl feel both curious and excited.

One bottle of cola cheered up their little cousin, and the three cousins all heaved a sigh of relief. Seeing that it was almost lunchtime, Lin Chenghui quickly led his younger siblings back to the villa.

As soon as they stepped through the door, the four kids were caught red - handed by their grandma.

Grandma Lin saw the big bags of snacks in her grandsons' hands. She glared at the naughty boys fiercely, then shifted her gaze to the little girl. Her expression changed instantly, and a gentle smile spread across her face.

"Miaomiao's back. Go wash your hands and have lunch."

"Okay, grandma!" Miaomiao took off her shoes, nodded seriously, and trotted towards the bathroom with her little legs.

The three cousins, who had been left behind by Miaomiao, immediately received a threat from their grandma.

"Humph, let's see how you're going to explain to your moms when you can't eat later."

The three teenagers instinctively stood at attention and shook their heads desperately, explaining, "No no no, we bought all these for Miaomiao. We didn't eat any! We didn't even eat just now!"

"Humph, better be so."

Grandma Lin's fake smile scared the three teenagers half to death. They quickly put down the plastic bags and scurried off to the bathroom.

Sure enough, their little cousin was like a get - out - of - jail - free card.

After washing their hands, they sat down for lunch. The kids were seated together, chatting and playing noisily, while the adults clinked glasses and chatted. The meal was really lively.

After a sumptuous lunch, the three cousins couldn't wait to drag Miaomiao out of the house, claiming it was to show their little cousin around and let her play.

Actually, they had been asked about their schoolwork and homework during lunch. Unable to bear the adults' nagging any longer, they just found a reasonable excuse to escape.

"Where are we going this time?" Lin Chengzhi pulled Miaomiao along, looking completely lost, waiting for his two older brothers to make a wise decision.

The internet café? Taking their little cousin to an internet café was like asking for trouble.

The amusement park? Forget it. The rocking car had almost made their little cousin cry.

Playing house? Eww! No. As boys, they just couldn't bring themselves to play such an embarrassing game.

"Let's go to the roller - skating rink." Lin Chengshan had a sudden inspiration. Roller - skating was a bit dangerous, but as long as they kept an eye on their little cousin, there shouldn't be any major problems.

This suggestion was unanimously approved by the other two cousins.

Roller - skating was great. It was interactive, not boring, and they liked it too.

There happened to be a newly opened roller - skating rink right at the entrance. The three teenagers had never been there before, so this was a good opportunity to check it out.

Miaomiao was thus dragged into the roller - skating rink by her brothers. Seeing the people inside skating back and forth in their roller skates, the little girl's eyes lit up.

The eldest cousin, who had been closely watching Miaomiao's expressions and movements, slowly let out a sigh of relief.

Hooray! They'd finally found something their little sister liked.

"Do you want to play?" Lin Chenghui stroked the little girl's fluffy hair and asked.

"Yes!" Miaomiao answered crisply without hesitation. She couldn't wait to get on the rink right away.

Lin Chenghui nodded with a smile, turned around to pay and rent the skates. The little girl was a bit unaccustomed when she first put on the roller skates. She wobbled from side to side like a big tumbler.

Watching their little cousin waddling around the rink like a little penguin, the three cousins all showed kind smiles.

The children's roller skates had self - braking devices. As long as Miaomiao didn't fly out, there was no way she could fall.

"Come on, keep your balance. Bend your knees a little and lean your upper body forward. That's right. Hold on to the railing and skate slowly." Lin Chenghui corrected Miaomiao's posture bit by bit and taught her some basic skills.

Miaomiao kept a straight face and completely followed her eldest cousin's instructions. Her serious expression was as if she was facing some serious national event.

The little girl had a foundation in martial arts. Although the training in the past few days hadn't led to any dramatic improvements, her physical skills and coordination were much better than ordinary people.

When it came to a sports activity like roller - skating, the little girl's learning ability was beyond ordinary people's comparison.

In just three or four minutes, Miaomiao had completely mastered the essentials of roller - skating and could spin, jump and even close her eyes while skating on the rink.

The three cousins stared at Miaomiao's series of actions in disbelief and began to deeply doubt themselves.

They remembered that when they were learning, they'd fallen many times and suffered a lot of injuries before they could learn it.

So were they just too stupid, or was their little cousin too strong?

No, they definitely couldn't accept the idea that they were stupid. It must be that their little cousin was too strong.

"It's you! Stop right there!"

Suddenly, a furious shout came from behind. Miaomiao stopped her happy skating, turned around, and saw the boy who she'd accidentally broken his bone in the park a few days ago. He was standing behind her with one arm in a sling.

Behind him stood two teenagers, about the same age as her cousins. They seemed to be on the boy's side.

"What's up?" Miaomiao asked curiously, thinking that the boy had called her to ask for an apology for her accidental injury last time.

The little girl never thought that the boy was here for revenge. To her, this injured boy was too weak. Even with the two teenagers behind him, they were no match for her.

"I want to duel with you! I was just unlucky last time! This time, I'll definitely beat you down." The boy pointed at Miaomiao's nose and threatened fiercely.

"Huh?" Miaomiao tilted her head, completely confused about what the boy was up to. But since the boy wanted to have a match with her, she wasn't that stingy. She continued, "Okay, I accept your duel request."

The boy snorted and glanced at Miaomiao's cousins behind her. With his older brothers here to back him up this time, he was sure he could defeat this little girl!

It had to be said that the boy still didn't understand the gap in strength at this moment. He was determined to carry on his self - destructive behavior to the end.
