Chapter 33: The Haunting of the Fox Spirit

I looked at Gu Yuan. He seemed to already know what had happened.

"What's going on?"

"It's hard to explain in a single sentence. I'll tell you when you come."

Before I could say anything else, she hung up the phone.

I looked up at Gu Yuan. After making sure it wasn't him who did it, I felt relieved.

"No matter what happens to her, I won't care."

She almost killed me yesterday. This is just retribution.

Gu Yuan crossed his arms in front of his chest, his icy eyes glinting. "Of course we should care, but not now. Wait until she begs you."

...

When I arrived at the school gate, Yan Lin was already waiting for me.

Seeing me appear, she waved frantically for me to come over.

"What's the rush?" I asked.

Yan Lin was still being mysterious. "Big things have happened. It's so satisfying. Let's go to the fast - food restaurant across the street and talk."

I was forcefully dragged by Yan Lin to the restaurant. She told me everything she knew.

"Last night, a strange wind blew over our school playground. Now the playground is in a complete mess. You should go and take a look later. It's extremely terrifying."

I twitched the corners of my mouth awkwardly and listened to her continue.

"I immediately felt that this must be an ominous omen. Guess what..."

Yan Lin had an elective class this morning in the school's multimedia classroom.

The multimedia classroom is a kind of amphitheater. There were a lot of students in class.

When she went in, most of the students were already there.

Just as she was about to open the door and go in, Qin Lan directly bumped into her shoulder from behind.

Yan Lin almost fell down. Just as she was about to argue, Qin Lan gave her a fierce look.

But in the blink of an eye, Qin Lan suddenly seemed to be possessed by something.

From being aggressive just now, she instantly turned into a nightclub hottie, batting her eyes seductively.

She threw herself at every boy she saw. The boys in the front row were so scared that they jumped over the desks and ran backwards.

It was just like an emperor playing hide - and - seek in the imperial garden.

The poor boy who was unfortunately caught by her was directly pinned down.

The boy was so scared that he didn't dare to move. He didn't even dare to pick up his glasses when they fell on the ground. He just raised his hands in a daze.

That's not all. Qin Lan was like a drunk person. She started taking off her clothes right in front of everyone.

She kept whining coquettishly, "It's so hot, so hot."

It didn't end there. Even more terrifyingly, she grabbed the boy's hand and pressed it against her chest.

She kept asking him, "Do you think I'm beautiful?"

The scene was in complete chaos. Even the teacher couldn't stop her crazy behavior.

Finally, several people held her and took her to the school infirmary.

The school doctor had never seen such a situation and was at a loss. They could only tie her to the bed to stop her crazy actions.

Finally, there was nothing else they could do. The class advisor informed her parents to take her home.

I couldn't believe my ears after hearing Yan Lin's words. She had always been a proud princess.

How could she suddenly go crazy like this?

"I think she's possessed by an evil spirit," Yan Lin analyzed.

"No way. There's a master by her side. Look at my arm," I showed Yan Lin my bitten arm.

"I almost got killed by the ghost she raised today."

Yan Lin stared at me with wide eyes and her mouth hanging open.

"Is it that crazy? Then why don't you call the police? Such people should be punished."

"What should I tell the police? That I was bitten by a ghost?"

Yan Lin thought it wasn't appropriate. "You're right. We can't call the police. The police can't handle this."

After we had lunch in the fast - food restaurant, we went back to the classroom for class.

When I entered the classroom, the atmosphere felt strange. Everyone was whispering to each other and stealing glances at me from time to time.

I ignored them, but I felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the whole class.

After class, those people avoided me like the plague.

When I got back to the dormitory, Li Xue and the others also looked strange.

Yan Lin couldn't stand it anymore. They were all roommates. There was nothing they couldn't say. She scolded the two of them.

Only then did Li Xue stutter out what she had heard.

Now the story had spread throughout the school. Someone saw me arguing with Qin Lan at the school gate this morning. And I was acting like a shaman the whole time.

In just one day, Qin Lan went crazy. So everyone thought that I deliberately took revenge on her and cast some kind of spell on her, which was why she seemed possessed.

I felt so wronged. I looked like a shaman because the ghost pounced on me and I had to throw it off.

They couldn't see the ghost, so it just looked like I was dancing around by myself.

I sighed. I didn't know how to explain.

Yan Lin couldn't hold it in anymore. She told Li Xue and the others everything I had told her.

She pulled my arm and showed them the wound.

Only then did they start to feel sorry for me.

Li Xue also said that she heard that Qin Lan seemed to have offended a fox spirit, which was why this happened.

Speaking of the fox spirit, I suddenly remembered that one morning, I saw her shadow. It was in the shape of a fox. I just didn't pay attention to it at that time.

"Do you think Qin Lan is so crazy about men that she offended something?"

"Absolutely not. She's never short of men."

"Right, right. She must have done too many immoral things, so she attracted the attention of a lustful ghost."

They were chatting animatedly, but I wasn't interested in listening anymore.

I simply packed a few books and planned to go home.

Although Qin Lan was my classmate, her life or death had nothing to do with me anymore.

If it weren't for Gu Yuan saying that we should care, I wouldn't even bother listening to her ridiculous story.

I had to go home right away because I suddenly remembered something more important than Qin Lan.

I didn't want any more trouble. I had to go home and ask Gu Yuan to deal with the bracelet on my hand.

"Lan Lan, are you going home to accompany your husband again?" Yan Lin joked.

"Yeah. He's so charming. I have to keep an eye on him." After saying that, I grabbed a few grapes and rushed home on my electric bike.

As soon as I pushed open the door, He Bi was talking to several customers in the living room.

When I opened the door, those customers all looked in my direction.

One of the men was very familiar to me. He was the one who wanted to kill me yesterday.

I stood there stunned for two seconds. Fortunately, I had worn a hat and covered my face with a scarf when I was riding the electric bike. They couldn't recognize me at all.

"Sis, you're back," He Bi said.

I responded and rushed towards the bedroom.

I pressed my ear against the door. I wanted to hear what those people were up to.

"Don't bother listening. They must have come because they can't handle things themselves and need help," Gu Yuan said casually as he sat in the chair, flipping through a book. He looked so good in that nonchalant way.

I took off my hat and scarf and sat down opposite Gu Yuan.

"One of them is that pond - harvester. He's the one who wanted to take you away."

I wanted to say that the wound on my body was his doing, but I didn't say it out.

After all, I didn't want him to get into any trouble because of me.

Gu Yuan threw the magazine on the table. His eyes were cold.

"What goes around comes around. Such people will be punished sooner or later."

I smiled. I didn't really care about this. Whether he was punished or not didn't matter. He was already getting his retribution.

"One more thing. You haven't done it yet," I said timidly as I sat next to Gu Yuan.

Gu Yuan said, "What is it?"

He was just pretending not to know.

"Can you help me take off the jade bracelet on my hand?"
