The girl beside me, dressed in the same uniform, immediately apologized to the woman and scurried aside.
The woman held a handkerchief in one hand, covering her nose and mouth with a look of disgust. With the other hand, she rummaged around in the kitchen, as if searching for something.
I was quite surprised to see her when I entered the kitchen. A girl of her status, one who couldn't bear the smell of cooking oil, why would she be here in the kitchen out of the blue?
It wasn't until I saw her take a triangular object from the table in the kitchen and stuff it into her handbag that I finally understood her purpose.
What she put into her bag was a yellow talisman paper with red characters.
I was curious. Why would she come to the kitchen to look for a talisman paper? While I was still pondering, she sashayed out of the kitchen.
I quickly dropped the plate in my hand and followed her out.
As soon as the woman stepped out of the kitchen, she spotted Gu Yuan. At that moment, Gu Yuan was sitting alone at a table, sipping his red wine. Chu Yancheng was no longer by his side.
The woman tottered towards Gu Yuan on her high heels, her figure swaying seductively.
Her charming smile was full of coquettishness. Her beautiful eyes fluttered ever so slightly.
I could see it clearly from my angle. She was definitely flirting with Gu Yuan.
Gu Yuan didn't hesitate. He returned her a smile that could melt any woman's heart.
With that smile of his, no woman could resist. This woman seemed to be on the verge of collapsing.
She reached out her hand, eager to shake hands with Gu Yuan.
Gu Yuan put down his glass and extended his right hand to shake hands with Li Xiaoqian.
Then, in a clear voice, he said, "Your ring is very beautiful."
After saying that, his deep, dark eyes glanced in my direction.
The woman beamed with joy when she heard Gu Yuan's compliment. She took a few steps closer, trying to strike up a conversation with him. Her voluptuous upper body was almost touching Gu Yuan's chest.
"My name is Li Xiaoqian. Nice to meet you."
"Gu Yuan," Gu Yuan replied bluntly.
"What a wonderful name. What are you looking at?" Li Xiaoqian leaned closer to Gu Yuan, following his gaze in my direction.
As soon as our eyes met, I quickly lowered my head and walked away.
Li Xiaoqian let out a loud, shrill laugh.
I couldn't hear what they were saying after that.
I watched them chatting and laughing from across the room. My heart felt like it was being twisted.
But then again, I had no right to interfere in his affairs. I forced myself to turn away and not look at them.
I carried the tray and walked around the hall. In a corner, Chu Yancheng was chatting with a young female Taoist priest. I couldn't see her face clearly.
The two of them seemed to be having a great time. Soon, they walked towards the back hall together.
I wanted to go and see what was going on, but I was stopped by two black-clad men.
I didn't want to cause any trouble, so I stood at the door for a while, craning my neck to look inside.
Just as I was desperately trying to figure out a way to get in, a big hand suddenly grabbed me from behind and pulled me away.
I was about to scream when I saw that it was Gu Yuan. He pinned me against the wall, holding both of my hands above my head with one hand.
With the other hand, he wrapped his arm around my waist, pressing my body tightly against his.
"What are you doing... mm... mm..." His cool lips pressed against mine.
My eyes widened in shock. What on earth was he trying to do?
I lifted my foot to kick him, but he gently lifted me up in his arms and carried me towards the corridor where Chu Yancheng and the female Taoist priest had gone.
As he carried me, his lips remained on mine. His kiss became more and more passionate. The sweet taste of the red wine on his lips filled my mouth. I felt a little dizzy.
To my surprise, the black-clad men didn't stop us. Instead, they even gave Gu Yuan a room card.
I thought this was supposed to be a press conference. How did it turn into a... I couldn't say it out loud. It would be censored.
Gu Yuan carried me all the way, kissing me non-stop until he opened the door and took me into the bedroom.
I don't know where I found the courage, but I opened my mouth and bit his lower lip hard.
Gu Yuan frowned slightly and threw me onto the bed.
Fortunately, the bed was soft. I bounced up and down a few times before sitting up.
"What do you think you're doing?" I glared at Gu Yuan angrily, spitting out the blood in my mouth. I was furious.

I sat on the bed, stunned for a moment. I thought to myself, is he crazy?
"Who's jealous? We have nothing to do with each other. Why would I be jealous?" I stared at him intently as I spoke, trying to prove to him that he was overthinking. I wasn't jealous at all.
"But... I'm jealous," Gu Yuan's tone changed. His cold eyes became extremely gentle. I could even detect a hint of coquetry in his voice.
I was stunned. It took me a long time to react.

"Ah?" I immediately jumped out of bed and rummaged through the water bar.
"What are you looking for?"
"I'm looking for two paper cups. I'm going to find out how those two are colluding."
With that, I stuffed a paper cup into Gu Yuan's hand. Then I cut off the bottom of the cup and pressed it against the wall.
I pressed the cup against the wall, but I couldn't hear anything.
"The soundproofing is too good. Why can't I hear anything?" I knelt on the edge of the bed, listening intently.
"I advise you not to listen," Gu Yuan put down the paper cup in his hand and said.
"Why?"
