Chapter 10 A Pretty Relaxed Life

The huge screen projected on the wall just froze on a hideous, terrified and desperate ghost face. Su Yang's scream precisely synchronized with the scream from the surround - sound stereo.

She never expected that someone would appear behind her. Still in a state of shock, Su Yang instinctively waved her slender arm, and then, she fell backward.

But she had been sitting cross - legged for too long, and her calves were completely numb. She couldn't straighten them to exert force.

On the other side, over the back of the sofa, Xu Lize reached out his hand to pull her, but Su Yang fell faster than he could react.

Xu Lize not only failed to catch her, but also lost his balance. Leaning against the back of the sofa, he plunged head - first.

Fortunately, the tea table was far away, and there was a large piece of flannel carpet on the floor. When Su Yang fell on her back, she didn't feel much pain.

But before she could react, Xu Lize also fell down.

Su Yang only felt a sudden darkness in front of her eyes, and a mellow smell of wine hit her nostrils.

She instinctively turned her head, allowing Xu Lize to spray his hot breath on her shoulder.

The screams still echoed around. Su Yang shivered all over and froze in place.

The two were stuck together in a very funny posture. Through Su Yang's pure - cotton pajamas, she could feel the raised buttons on Xu Lize's shirt and his firm chest muscles, while Xu Lize could feel the soft curves on her...

Su Yang's heart suddenly raced, and her bare - faced cheeks were now so red that it seemed blood would drip.

However, Xu Lize quickly propped up his arms. Then, with one hand on the side of her ear and the other reaching for the remote control on the tea table.

Su Yang didn't dare to turn her head, but in her line of sight, she saw Xu Lize's veined forearm.

The black shirt cuffs were rolled up halfway, exuding a masculine hormonal aura from his wheat - colored skin.

For some reason, Su Yang thought of how she had mistaken Xu Lize's extremely good - looking face for a "ghost face" just now, and a smile escaped from the corner of her mouth.

Xu Lize stood up, squinted at her, and then directly turned off the power of the projector with the remote control.

Su Yang frowned in protest, "Hey, I haven't finished watching yet..."

But Xu Lize ignored her protest, threw the remote control and sat back on the sofa. Crossing his arms over his chest, he said, "You're living a pretty relaxed life."

Su Yang quickly got up from the ground, tugged at her pajamas and forced a smile at him, "It's... okay."

The little woman should have just taken a shower. Her long, loose hair was still a bit damp. Her cheeks were flushed unnaturally because of the embarrassment just now. At this moment, she was lowering her head like a naughty primary - school student, as if waiting to be scolded.

Xu Lize thought her appearance was a bit comical. Looking up, he continued to ask, "You've been at home all the time?"

"Yeah." Su Yang nodded, finding Xu Lize's question a bit strange.

"Then why didn't anyone answer my calls?"

As he spoke, Xu Lize didn't notice that the restlessness and depression that had built up in his heart for an afternoon and an evening suddenly began to subside after seeing Su Yang.

Su Yang was stunned. After looking around, she apologized, "I left my phone upstairs to charge. I didn't bring it down."

For a moment, Xu Lize felt as if he was possessed.

Maybe he cared too much about the sudden appearance of a "Mrs. Xu" by his side, so he allowed Su Yang's every move to challenge his patience without a bottom line.

"What did you have for lunch and dinner?" Xu Lize was annoyed. Hands on his hips, he asked.

"There were a lot of ingredients in the fridge. I used a bit. I cooked noodles for lunch and made fried rice with eggs for dinner." Su Yang sensed his strange aura but didn't know what he was angry about.

Was he angry that she had used the projector without permission, or that she hadn't seen his missed calls in time?

"Have you sorted out your room?" Xu Lize stood up as he asked this.

Su Yang seemed to be startled by his movement. Taking a step back, she said, "Yes, I chose the first room on the left after going up the second - floor staircase."

Xu Lize nodded and strode towards the stairs.

But after walking a few steps, he found that Su Yang didn't follow. Curiously, he turned back and asked her, "Aren't you coming up?"

Su Yang stood still, with an interesting expression on her face. "Can I... finish watching the movie before going to sleep?"

Leaving a horror movie halfway would surely drive one crazy.

But Su Yang was really a bit afraid that Xu Lize would shake his head and say "no".

Xu Lize was stunned for a moment. Putting his hands in his suit - pants pockets, he looked around the dimly - lit surroundings and said meaningfully, "I didn't expect you, little girl, to be so brave."

Su Yang thought he had agreed. When she picked up the remote control to restart the projector, she politely invited him.

"Do you want to watch it with me? This new one is quite good."

But Xu Lize shook his head without thinking. Leaving a "No, thanks" behind, he went upstairs directly...

Early the next morning, when Xu Lize got up, he saw Su Yang standing by the sink, learning to make wontons from the housekeeper aunt. The two were chatting and laughing.

Seeing Xu Lize coming downstairs, Su Yang looked up and gave him a big grin.

"Good morning!"

"......Good morning."

Xu Lize rarely hesitated for a moment. It took him a few seconds to fully react, and then he nodded and greeted Su Yang.

"Are you going for a morning jog?" Seeing Xu Lize dressed in light sports clothes, Su Yang asked.

Xu Lize nodded, poured himself a glass of freshly squeezed corn juice, took a sip and then asked, "What are your plans for today?"

"I'm going to the hospital and then back to school." Su Yang said while putting the wrapped wontons into a box.

Xu Lize looked down at his watch. "If you're not in a hurry to leave, wait for me to come back from my jog and record your fingerprint for the lock. Then you can go out."

"I'm not in a hurry. I'm learning to make wontons from the aunt. Can we have shepherd's - purse wontons for breakfast later?"

Xu Lize glanced at the two refrigerator storage boxes on the table, which were already filled with wontons, and nodded.

Watching him put on his sneakers and go out, Su Yang immediately turned to the housekeeper aunt and continued to ask, "So Mr. Xu doesn't eat Western - style breakfast?"

"He doesn't." The aunt shook her head and said exaggeratedly, "Mr. Xu only eats boiled eggs."

This housekeeper aunt had a long - term contract with Xu Lize.

Previously, when Xu Lize lived in the single - person apartment in the industrial park, the aunt would rush over every morning to make breakfast for him and then clean the apartment.

Now that Xu Lize had suddenly moved to "Wutong No. 1", the aunt had also followed.

To be honest, when the aunt came in this morning, she was startled to see Su Yang standing by the bar, drinking water.

But after half an hour of making wontons, the two had become familiar with each other.

"Besides wontons, what else does Mr. Xu usually eat for breakfast?"

Su Yang was just curious. She didn't expect someone like Xu Lize to have such a down - to - earth breakfast.

"Mr. Xu isn't picky about any Chinese - style breakfast."

"What about pancakes, fried dough sticks and soybean milk?" Su Yang imagined in her mind and always felt that the image of Xu Lize holding pancakes and fried dough sticks was quite out of place.

Unexpectedly, the aunt nodded repeatedly and said, "Mr. Xu especially loves the pancakes from Wang's Pancake Shop. If he doesn't eat them for a few days, he'll even ask me to buy them for him specifically."

Hearing this, Su Yang silently remembered. It turned out that the noble and sophisticated - looking Xu Lize had a truly Chinese stomach.
