Chapter 19: The Qi-Eating Ghost

Yuanyuan's warm little hand grabbed Old Master Qi. "Grandpa, you can sleep a bit more. I'll wake you up after I've solved everything."

Old Master Qi nodded with a beaming smile. Before he could say a word, he felt those little hands press against the back of his head.

His vision went black, and he fainted again.

Zhang Zhenwei quickly stepped forward to help the little one lay Old Master Qi flat.

"Baby girl, what's wrong with your Grandpa Qi?"

Yuanyuan waved her little hand. "For important people like you, Grandpa, and Grandpa Qi, there are bound to be petty people around. Some are jealous of your lives and will strike when you're not paying attention."

"It's quite normal! Master said that human nature is very complex!"

Zhang Zhenwei couldn't help but smile.

How old was this little one? Did she even understand what "human nature" meant?

Yuanyuan continued confidently, "However, the petty person around Grandpa Qi isn't very powerful. His methods are rather crude. He only sent a Qi - eating ghost to the Qi family. It's quite easy to deal with."

"Qi - eating ghost?" the old man asked in confusion.

"Yes." While Yuanyuan scanned the evil aura around and her little eyes darted around looking for the ghost, she said, "Well... according to my calculations, the bad guy must have drugged Grandpa Qi first, making his body suddenly weak."

"And Qi - eating ghosts love sick and weak people the most. They'll take advantage when the patient is unguarded and suck out the patient's vital energy. After a long time, the patient will die without any serious illness."

Hearing the little one's words, Zhang Zhenwei couldn't help but be shocked.

Indeed, Old Master Qi had always been in good health, but he fell seriously ill after an accident one day.

"Right!" Zhang Yuanyuan slapped her little hand, as if remembering something.

"Grandpa, you should stay away from me later. It's best if you stay with Uncle Qi and the others. You're still sick now. I'm worried the Qi - eating ghost will target you."

How sweet! The little bun still cared about him!

The old grandpa's eyes welled up with tears. "Okay, Grandpa will listen to you. I won't hold you back!"

Yuanyuan squinted and smiled.

At this moment, Qi Tian and a few servants walked in with what Zhang Yuanyuan had asked for.

The bright red rooster - comb blood in the bowl looked rather eerie in the dim room.

Zhang Yuanyuan pointed at the table she had already eyed. "Uncle, put it there."

"Okay."

Qi Tian responded and quickly set up the scene as instructed.

After Yuanyuan pulled down all the curtains to block out the sunlight and turned off the lights, the room was instantly plunged into darkness. A chill slowly crept up, as if they had fallen into a strange boundary.

Zhang Zhenwei originally wanted to leave as Yuanyuan said, but in this situation, how could he let the child stay alone!

What if something happened?

They saw the little one spread out five of Old Master Qi's clothes neatly on the table and place the rooster - comb blood above them.

She raised her hand, recited a spell, and in the surprised gazes of everyone, a talisman paper instantly burst into flames.

Yuanyuan's eyes were bright. She took the burning talisman paper and lit three incense sticks, then placed them together with the rooster - comb blood.

The paper with Old Master Qi's exact birth date and time was placed horizontally in the middle of the clothes.

The flame of the talisman paper was bright and dazzling. Although it was just a short bit, it burned continuously in her hand.

The little one walked around the incense sticks three times with the burning talisman paper, waved it over the clothes, and then started to walk around every corner of the room. She kept mumbling something, but her voice was so soft that no one could hear clearly.

"Uncle Qi, get me a water bowl."

"Okay."

Qi Tian snapped out of his shock and quickly ran out. He came back with a bowl of water soon.

At this moment, Yuanyuan stopped walking. She walked up to Qi Tian and pressed all the burning talisman papers into the clear water.

The talisman paper suddenly burst into a flame, as if it had encountered oil. It almost burned Qi Tian's hair, scaring him to take two steps back.

Yuanyuan giggled twice and took the water bowl. They saw the flame slowly go out, and the charred talisman paper lay completely at the bottom of the bowl.

She picked up the bowl and took a sip. Then she walked to Old Master Qi's bedside with an incense stick in her hand and spat out all the water at the old man's face.

Qi Tian clicked his tongue in amazement.

He had seen many magic tricks of charlatans, but when the little one did it, it always seemed so funny...

They saw her pinch the incense stick with her little hand and draw a few big characters in the air above the old man. The faint smoke drifted with her hand movements.

Qi Tian couldn't understand, but Zhang Zhenwei, with more experience, recognized the words.

"Commanded by the Immortal Master, the Dragon Star of the Third Day, Pacify!"

As Zhang Zhenwei finished reading the last word, the eerie chill in the air disappeared instantly!

The little one also stopped at this moment.

Zhang Zhenwei looked at Yuanyuan with admiration in his eyes. The baby girl was so amazing!

But at this moment, a wisp of black air suddenly rushed out from Old Master Qi's glabella.

Zhang Yuanyuan snorted in her milk - like voice. She pointed the three incense sticks forward. "Hey! You little evil ghost! Where do you think you're going!"

The door slammed shut!

A bone - chilling cold rushed through Qi Tian's body at high speed, as if he had been slowly tortured to death in an instant!

Qi Tian couldn't hold on and fell backward. The servants quickly supported him.

Yuanyuan took out a small peach - wood sword from her bag. Her chubby little hand tightened on the hilt, and the sword tip spun rapidly in her hand!

Every time she waved it, a bright yellow light stabbed forward in the air!

"The Heavenly Lord of Numinous Treasure comforts the body. The soul of this disciple and the five internal organs are in the dark. The Azure Dragon and the White Tiger stand in battle array; the Vermilion Bird and the Black Tortoise guard my true self. Quickly as the law commands!"

The peach - wood sword was waved so fast that there were even after - images.

At the last moment when the incantation was finished, the sword body vibrated humbly, and the sword tip seemed to be possessed by a god, pointing to the place with the strongest aura.

"Swish" a sound, a wisp of green smoke suddenly rose in the air.

"Ahhh——!!"

The shrill scream of the Qi - eating ghost rang out. Yuanyuan took a step forward with her little foot, and the sword tip moved forward again.

The green smoke became thicker, and the air was filled with the smell of burning!

The scream gradually faded away, and the Qi - eating ghost's soul was scattered!

Zhang Yuanyuan let out a long sigh of relief and slowly put away the peach - wood sword. The curtains in the room were opened, and sunlight filtered in, bringing a bit of a sense of security to the space.

"Humph, a puny little ghost. Not worth fearing!"

"Is... is this the thing that has been hurting Father all this time..." Qi Tian's voice trembled, and his eyes couldn't help but turn red. "For all these years, how did Father endure such pain?"

He regretted deeply.

It was all his own ignorance. He even wanted to stop Little Master Yuanyuan!

If the little one had really been driven away by him, Father would have to endure such great pain before he died!

Zhang Zhenwei didn't look happy. He snorted. "Serves you right, ignorant boy. Now you know how amazing my granddaughter is, don't you?"

Zhang Yuanyuan ran to Old Master Qi's bedside and gently tapped on the old man's glabella.

"In front of the Lord Lao, there is a token. Return quickly, the three souls and seven spirits."

Her cherry - like little mouth mumbled. As if by magic, Old Master Qi under her hand really slowly opened his eyes, looking confused.

"What... what just happened to me?"
