Chapter 33 A Madman Should Do What a Madman Does

From the furtive look in Feng Zhong's eyes, Jiang Zhao and Chen Huainan knew he had ill intentions.

Sure enough, after hearing this, Master Chen looked skeptical. "How can you prove you're Miss Jiang's master?"

Jiang Zhao was getting tired of dealing with this family. "Since Master Chen doesn't believe me, I won't stay any longer."

"Wait, Master!" Chen Huainan quickly blocked Jiang Zhao's way. "Dad! What are you doing?"

"You believe whatever Feng Zhong says. I'm your own son!"

"You don't believe a word I say but trust a servant instead!"

Ever since Feng Zhong and his son entered the Chen Mansion, they'd been sowing discord in front of his father.

The problem was, his father believed whatever Feng Zhong said, making him, the son, seem like an outsider!

Feng Zhong covered his heart, looking heart - broken. "Oh, Young Master, this old servant is doing all this for your own good."

"I've watched you grow up. It really breaks my heart!"

"If Young Master can't tolerate this old servant, I'll just leave."

Hearing that Feng Zhong was leaving, Master Chen raised his ruler and struck Chen Huainan's face several times. "Old Feng, don't listen to this unfilial son."

"As long as I'm alive, it's not up to this unfilial son to decide! Anyone who dares to drive you away will be kicked out of the Chen family."

Unable to dodge in time, Chen Huainan's eyes filled with tears. He covered his face and was about to say something harsh when Jiang Zhao stopped him with a look.

He really couldn't stand this family for another day!

Feng Zhong stood beside Master Chen like a jealous concubine. His words gave Jiang Zhao a headache.

"Master Chen, if you don't believe me, you can send for Jiang Yunxi right now."

"Tell him Song E is looking for him, and he'll understand."

Jiang Zhao could ignore the Chen family's affairs, but she wouldn't allow others to slander her as a madwoman.

Seeing her confidence, Master Chen's doubts were somewhat dispelled. Could it be that what she said was true?

Feng Zhong didn't know where his confidence came from. He was sure Jiang Zhao was a swindling madwoman. "Master, I think she's sure we won't look for him."

"Once we really bring the person here, she'll be the one in trouble!"

Feng Youcheng chimed in.

Humph, could the master of the young lady from the Marquis of Ningyuan's Mansion dress like a beggar?

Wearing a mask too. She must be extremely ugly!

He didn't even know the young lady from the Marquis of Ningyuan's Mansion. How could a playboy like Chen Huainan know her!

The Chen family's servant was fast. Soon he reached the Marquis of Ningyuan's Mansion and told Jiang Yunxi what had happened.

Hearing that Song E had sent someone, Jiang Yunxi immediately got into the carriage.

He hummed cheerfully. Jiang Zhao had refused to let him go, but now she'd sent for him herself!

When he got back, he'd have to show off in front of Jiang Zhao.

...

Feng Zhong looked at Jiang Zhao arrogantly. "I advise you to leave now. It's still not too late."

"Once Young Master Jiang Si arrives, you won't be able to leave!"

Jiang Zhao ignored him. Her eyes kept wandering between the female ghost, Feng Zhong, and Feng Youcheng.

Chen Huainan stood beside Jiang Zhao.

The female ghost's resentment grew stronger. She wanted to pounce on Feng Zhong and his son several times but seemed to be afraid of something and hovered in place.

Jiang Zhao followed the female ghost's gaze and saw a round wooden plaque hanging on Feng Zhong's body. There were three unnoticeable small bronze mirrors inlaid in the middle of the wood.

Although she'd never seen this thing before, she guessed the female ghost was afraid of it.

Thinking of this, Jiang Zhao quietly approached Feng Zhong. Suddenly, she reached for the wooden plaque on his waist.

She grabbed the plaque but dropped it on the ground. The bronze mirrors on it shattered into pieces.

This happened so fast that by the time the others reacted, it was already broken.

The female ghost was quick. Seeing the plaque broken, she immediately pounced on Feng Zhong with a hideous face.

She wrapped herself around Feng Zhong's body with hands and feet and opened her big mouth to bite at his head.

Feng Zhong stared blankly at the wooden plaque on the ground, shivered all over, and quickly squatted down to pick it up. He let out a shrill scream. "Are you crazy!"

Chen Huainan blinked. This master... was really unpredictable!

Jiang Zhao shrugged. "Didn't you just call me a madwoman?"

"A madwoman should do what a madwoman does."

Chen Huainan noticed that Feng Youcheng was still standing there blankly, his pupils dilated, shivering all over, as if frightened.

Chen Huainan frowned. It was just a broken plaque. Was it really necessary?

Seeing that the wooden plaque couldn't be fixed, Feng Zhong's eyes turned blood - red. He suddenly stood up and swung his fist at Jiang Zhao. "I'll kill you!"

Jiang Zhao didn't even try to dodge.

As soon as Feng Zhong took a step forward, he stumbled in mid - air as if tripped by an invisible person and fell straight to the ground.

Seeing this, Master Chen stepped forward to help Feng Zhong up and advised, "It's just a plaque. Just buy a new one if it's broken."

"Why are you so angry? It's not worth it."

How could it be the same! Feng Zhong had a bitter feeling he couldn't express.

Just as the Chen Mansion was in a complete mess, Jiang Yunxi arrived.

"What a lively scene. What good show did I miss?" Jiang Yunxi waved his folding fan and added to the chaos.

Seeing that he'd really come, Chen Huainan snorted and quickly covered his face and turned away.

Jiang Yunxi saw his swollen cheeks and almost burst out laughing. He curled his lips. "Stingy!"

Seeing Jiang Yunxi, Master Chen was overjoyed. He flattered, "Young Master Jiang Si, we're sorry we didn't greet you properly!"

Feng Zhong and Feng Youcheng's faces distorted for a moment. Jiang Yunxi had really come!

Feng Zhong winked at his son. Feng Youcheng quickly stepped forward to flatter him. "Young Master Jiang Si, do you still remember me? Last time I helped you..."

Before Feng Youcheng could finish his sentence, Jiang Yunxi interrupted him with a sideways glance. "Who are you?"

"What kind of riff - raff is coming forward to talk to me."

Everyone could see the disgust in Jiang Yunxi's eyes. Feng Youcheng blushed with shame and wished he could find a hole to crawl into.

The corner of Chen Huainan's mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Actually, compared to Chen Huainan, Jiang Yunxi hated Feng Youcheng even more. He was a scholar but didn't study hard for the imperial examinations. He was always daydreaming.

It was said that Feng Youcheng had said a lot of bad things about Chen Huainan behind his back. Jiang Yunxi hated people who were two - faced the most.

Master Chen waved his hand, telling Feng Youcheng to step back. "The servant is ignorant. Please forgive him, Young Master Jiang Si."

Jiang Yunxi ignored Master Chen. Instead, he respectfully said to Jiang Zhao, "I wonder why Master Song sent for me."

Jiang Zhao didn't hide anything. "They said I was a madwoman and wouldn't stop until I brought you here."

Jiang Yunxi exaggeratedly widened his eyes. "You actually said Master Song is a madwoman!"

Master Chen waved his hands repeatedly. "It's a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding!"

"How could the master of Miss Jiang be a madwoman! It's the servants in the mansion who are blind!"

"Please don't blame us, Your Excellency."

Jiang Yunxi waved his folding fan. "If Master Song doesn't mind, then let it go."
