Chapter 249: Heading Back

After Jin Hui finished speaking, he had just taken a puff of his cigar when he heard Mu Junze say that he was generous. He let out a couple of hearty laughs but didn't respond.

The smoke slowly dissipated from his mouth, revealing his cold, glinting eyes. Anyone who saw them would feel a chill run down their spine.

The two men stared at each other, and the atmosphere grew awkward once again. Clearly, Ju Zisheng's attempt to ease the tension hadn't worked, which made him feel a bit dejected.

Just then, one of Jin Hui's subordinates walked in carrying a tray. Everyone could see that there was a cloth covering the tray, and a faint red tint was seeping through, but they had no idea what was underneath.

The subordinate walked up to Jin Hui with the tray and said, "Mr. Jin, it's done. Please check."

Jin Hui just glanced at it out of the corner of his eye and then flicked his hand, flipping the cloth off.

What happened next shocked everyone present. Bai Ling was particularly affected. Her vision went black, and she nearly fainted. Ju Zisheng quickly caught her.

On the tray, under the cloth, was a severed hand.

It wasn't just an ordinary hand. There was an obvious through - wound on the arm. If they guessed correctly, it was the mark left by the crossbow bolt that Chen Shan had shot at Zhang Hang.

Seeing everyone's reactions, Jin Hui found it quite amusing. He looked at Mu Junze with a smile and said, "Well, Mr. Mu? I've punished him. This incident can be put to rest. Do you have any more questions?"

Mu Junze looked at the hand on the tray and thought to himself, "I didn't expect this old man Jin Hui to be so cruel. He even chopped off his own subordinate's hand."

Alas, he had truly lost this time.

"Alright, Mr. Jin. Since you're so straightforward, I won't push things too far. Let's just forget about this. You should discipline your subordinates more strictly in the future."

"Of course, Mr. Mu."

By this time, Bai Ling had regained a bit of consciousness. When she opened her eyes and saw the hand again, she felt nauseous and started to retch. She quickly covered her mouth with her hand.

This action didn't escape Jin Hui's notice. He looked at Bai Ling and then said to Mu Junze, "Mr. Mu, it seems your people aren't feeling well. Shouldn't you take care of them? Don't mess up my place."

Mu Junze knew that Jin Hui was clearly setting a trap for him. So he turned to Ju Zisheng and said, "Take Bai Ling out first and see what's wrong with her. There's nothing else to do here."

Just then, Lao Sun suddenly rushed in and whispered something in Jin Hui's ear.

After hearing Lao Sun's words, Jin Hui quickly looked at Mu Junze and raised his voice, saying, "Sorry, Mr. Mu. Don't let them go out alone. You can all leave together. I suddenly have some urgent matters to deal with, so I won't keep you any longer. Please feel free to go."

Mu Junze wasn't a person who didn't know when to back down. Since Jin Hui had issued the order to leave, and he had already been outmaneuvered by Jin Hui and suffered losses today, there was nothing else he could say. So he decided to leave gracefully.

Mu Junze nodded and said to Jin Hui, "Then we won't bother you anymore, Mr. Jin. You should handle your subordinate's matter well. There should be insurance coverage for this."

"Of course, you don't need to worry about this, Mr. Mu. Please take your time. I won't see you off. Come here!" Jin Hui called his subordinate over. "See our guests out and treat them well."

"Yes!" the subordinate replied.

Jin Hui nodded, turned his chair around, and started whispering to Lao Sun. He didn't look back at the group again.

Knowing that he had suffered a loss, Mu Junze waved his hand at the others, signaling them to leave.

Everyone understood what he meant. So Ju Zisheng supported Bai Ling, and under the protection of Mu Junze's many bodyguards, they left Jin Hui's office, took the elevator down, and walked out of the building.

When they reached the cars, Bai Ling couldn't hold it in anymore. She felt a wave of nausea and vomited all over the place.

"Bai Ling, are you okay?" Ju Zisheng quickly patted her on the back and asked.

Bai Ling shook her head while vomiting and said, "I'm okay, I'm okay..." Her voice was very weak.

Seeing Bai Ling like this, Mu Junze signaled his subordinate to get a bottle of water from the car and gave it to Ju Zisheng. He calmly said, "Let her rinse her mouth. Vomiting can cause stomach acid to flow back, which can be very harmful to the mouth and esophagus."

"Okay, thank you!" Ju Zisheng nodded and replied.

Not long after, Bai Ling adjusted herself. She rinsed her mouth and said she was fine. Then everyone got in the cars and prepared to leave.

As they chatted, they drove all the way back to Mu Junze's company.

When they were on their way to Mu Junze's office, they heard Meng Nianchu arguing with Cui Xi.

"I was asleep, and you just took me back secretly? I was going to stay with Mu Junze. What do you mean by taking me back? Is this deserting the battlefield?" Meng Nianchu shouted.

She was not happy that Cui Xi had taken her back to the company without waking her up. When she woke up and found that Mu Junze and the others had taken Zhang Hang to confront Jin Hui, she was very worried.

All this worry had now turned into anger, which she was venting on Cui Xi.

Cui Xi said helplessly, "Madam President, you can't blame me. I was just following the President's orders. I didn't dare to disobey at all. You're making things really difficult for me."

"I don't care. I'm going to find them now. Don't stop me!"

Hearing this, Mu Junze quickly took a couple of steps forward and reached the office door. He pushed it open, and someone bumped into him and fell into his arms.

It was none other than Meng Nianchu, who was about to go out to find Mu Junze.

She felt that she had bumped into something. When she looked up, she saw Mu Junze's cold and handsome face with a strange expression on it, which made him look even more cute.

"What are you doing?" Mu Junze asked.

Meng Nianchu blushed and lowered her head shyly. She whispered, "Isn't it because I'm worried about you? Jin Hui is not an easy person to deal with. If that snake - hearted Linda adds fuel to the fire, what if..."

"Don't worry for nothing!" Mu Junze said as he pulled Meng Nianchu tightly into his arms and comforted her. "I'm not that weak."

Meng Nianchu was stunned by Mu Junze's hug. She thought to herself, "Mu Junze rarely shows his emotions. Why is he being so affectionate all of a sudden? But it feels so nice to be in his arms, just like before."

In fact, Mu Junze had been irritated by the show of affection between Bai Ling and Ju Zisheng and had also lost to Jin Hui. So when he saw Meng Nianchu, he hugged her quickly to relieve his stress.

The atmosphere in the room gradually became strange. Besides the sweetness of the two couples, there was also a hint of jealousy from Cui Xi.
