Chapter 175: Meng Rong Is Back

Aunt Sun answered in a hurry and then scurried out of the ward, saying she was going to do the laundry.

Meng Nianchu quietly told Mu Junze, who was standing behind her, to ask Meng's father in the morning if there was anything wrong with this situation.

However, when Mu Junze and Meng Nianchu came to the hospital the next morning, the chief surgeon in charge of Meng's father was performing an operation on a patient. They wanted to find another doctor, but there were a continuous stream of emergency patients in the hospital, so they had to give up.

Meng's father thought he didn't have a serious problem. He just hadn't been out of the ward for a while, which was why he was like this. He told Meng Nianchu not to worry too much.

Since they couldn't find out the reason for the time being, Meng Nianchu nodded in agreement.

Not long after, Meng's mother also came to the hospital to take care of Meng's father. Meng Nianchu and Mu Junze went to the hospital to learn about company management.

The old-timers in the company were absolutely against Meng Nianchu inheriting the company. In the end, Mu Junze somehow managed to make them surprisingly quiet.

Now Mu Junze was keeping them in check. But after she took over the company, she couldn't always trouble Mu Junze. She needed to make them respect her.

Thinking that she would go to the company in a couple of days, Meng Nianchu felt a tightness in her chest and an indescribable uneasiness. She thought it was just because it was her first time taking on such a responsibility and she was nervous.

At this moment, Meng Nianchu never expected that in just a few hours, the thing she least wanted to face in her life would slither silently to her feet like a snake hiding in a tree hole and bite her hard.

What she least wanted to happen would explode right in front of her eyes.

Meng Nianchu was a tenacious woman.

Even if the content was so obscure that she racked her brains and still didn't quite understand it, she didn't give up but buried herself in looking up information.

Mu Junze, sitting at the desk, turned his head and saw Meng Nianchu with her hair tied up in a bun. Her little face was almost touching the tablet. The corner of his lips curved slightly.

Glancing out of the window, he grabbed a piece of waste paper on the table, rolled it into a ball and gently threw it at Meng Nianchu's arm.

Meng Nianchu looked up at him.

Mu Junze withdrew his smile. "Let's go."

...

Sheng Nan had basically recovered and could jump around in the nursery. When he saw Meng Nianchu come in, a big smile spread across his delicate little face and he called out sweetly, "Mom, Mom."

Meng Nianchu picked him up in her arms.

The attending doctor said, "Sheng Nan has basically fully recovered. In a few days when Mr. Meng is discharged from the hospital, Sheng Nan can also leave. But you must always keep an eye on him. If there's anything wrong, come to the hospital immediately."

"Okay."

Meng Nianchu hugged Sheng Nan tightly with her right hand and stroked his chubby arm with her left hand. Her tense nerves relaxed a bit.

Finally, good luck was coming. Things weren't so bad anymore.

When Mu Junze and Meng Nianchu were walking towards Meng's father's ward, Meng's mother, who had gone out secretly to buy cooked food for Meng's father, rushed after them in a hurry. Seeing her dear grandson recover so quickly, she cooed softly and reached out her hands to take him in her arms.

Suddenly, a shrill scream came from Meng's father's ward not far away.

Hearing it, they all immediately ran over.

Mu Junze kicked the door open. Aunt Sun, who usually looked kind and gentle, was now looking ferocious as she grabbed Meng's father by the neck and was pouring something into his mouth.

"What are you doing!" Meng Nianchu shouted.

Mu Junze had already rushed forward, grabbed Aunt Sun by the collar and threw her to the ground.

Meng's mother rushed to Meng's father in a hurry. "Are you okay?"

Meng's father coughed violently.

Meng's mother shouted for the doctor.

Hearing Meng's mother's call, the doctor in a white coat immediately rushed over and quickly wheeled the coughing Meng's father to the emergency room.

Seeing that Aunt Sun was trying to run away, Mu Junze simply picked her up from the ground.

Meng's mother's eyes were red with anger. She slapped Aunt Sun hard.

"You shameless woman! What do you want to do!"

She had thought that Aunt Sun had a good personality and was a hard worker these days, and that she could be hired in the future. She never thought that you can never judge a book by its cover. This woman could do such a despicable thing behind their backs!

Meng's mother gasped for breath. "Tell me, why did you do this!"

"If you want to call the police, go ahead. I did it. I'll take the consequences. There's nothing more to say." It seemed that since she had done this, she had already expected the result. Her expression was calm and her words were firm.

Meng's mother was so angry that she raised her hand and slapped Aunt Sun hard again.

"Why did you do this!"

Seeing that Meng's mother was very excited, Meng Nianchu quickly grabbed her. "Mom, Sheng Nan is a bit scared here. You take him out first. I'll ask her."

"You woman, you're so heartless..."

"Wow, wow." Sheng Nan was so scared by the tense atmosphere in the ward that he burst into tears.

Meng Nianchu gently patted his back. "Mom, you take Sheng Nan out first."

Hearing her grandson crying in her ear, Meng's mother softened. She took the child, glared at Aunt Sun and walked out.

Meng Nianchu closed the door and stared into Aunt Sun's eyes, with a cold look in her own. "Tell me, who told you to do this?"

"I did it on my own!"

Hearing Aunt Sun's firm answer, Meng Nianchu sneered disdainfully and leaned against the wall. "My father has no grudge against you. Why did you go after him? Are you crazy or did you fall in love with my father and then turn to hatred?"

Meng Nianchu raised her chin slightly and her tone turned cold. "What on earth did you feed my father!"

Aunt Sun turned her head away.

Meng Nianchu pushed her cheek with her tongue. "Send her to the police station."

Mu Junze roughly grabbed Aunt Sun and walked towards the door.

During this time, Aunt Sun didn't say a single word of pleading.

Meng Nianchu asked Meng's mother to take care of Sheng Nan and stay in the ward, while she waited alone at the door of the emergency room.

After a long hour, the door of the emergency room was pushed open from the inside. Meng's father was still in a coma and was wheeled to the ward by the nurse.

The doctor asked Meng Nianchu to go to his office with him.

"The thing your father was fed is a very strong anesthetic. Although he was treated in time and out of danger, his throat is damaged and he may never be able to speak again."

"Buzz!"

Meng Nianchu's mind went blank instantly.

The doctor added, "However, there is still a very small chance that he can recover. Let him take his medicine on time every day. As long as his body recovers, it's possible for him to get better."

"And if you need the evidence and surveillance footage, just tell me. I'm also partly responsible for Mr. Meng's misfortune. I'll do my best to help."

"Thank you."

Meng Nianchu didn't know how she walked out of the doctor's office. The doctor's words about her father's damaged throat were still echoing in her mind. She stumbled and bumped into a chair. She slumped down on the ground dejectedly, with tears in her eyes.

Around the corner not far from her, a pair of eyes were now fixed on her.
