Chapter 125: Anxious Mu Junze

"If you don't want to act, we can rewrite the script," she said coldly.

Linda was taken aback and retorted, "I didn't say I didn't want to act."

"Then shut up," ENYI signaled the director with a glance.

The director immediately urged the crew to get ready for filming.

Linda glared at ENYI. Then, hearing the director tell her to prepare, she averted her gaze.

But she couldn't let go of this matter.

She was certain she had seen those men take ENYI away. How could she be back? She had to find out what was going on later.

After learning that Meng Nianchu had been abducted, Bai Ling mobilized her friends to search for her. But hours passed, and there was still no news.

With Meng Nianchu's life at stake, everyone was on tenterhooks.

Knowing there were cameras outside the filming crew, Mu Junze immediately sent someone to retrieve the surveillance footage. He sat in front of the computer, staring intently at the screen, replaying the footage over and over again.

Those men seemed to have anticipated this. They all wore hats, making it impossible to see their faces.

The phone on the table buzzed. Mu Junze quickly picked it up.

It was Meng's mother calling.

He hesitated for a moment before answering.

"Nianchu said she would come pick me up. Why hasn't she come yet? And her phone is off. Is she too busy with work and forgot? I'll go to Shangting on my own. Don't let her come," Meng's mother's kind voice came from the phone.

Mu Junze rubbed his temples and replied softly, "Nianchu has something to do today. She'll come tomorrow."

There was a moment of silence on the phone before Meng's mother responded, "Okay."

Meng's mother had a weak heart. If she knew that Meng Nianchu had been kidnapped, she would be extremely worried. It might even cause her blood pressure to rise, which would only make the situation worse.

Mu Junze took a deep breath and frowned at the surveillance footage on the screen, deeply worried.

Where could she be?

...

Amidst the strong smell of perfume and in a narrow alley, Meng Nianchu was blindfolded and thrown into a room.

The hot - tempered man closed the door, then ripped off the black cloth covering her face. "Behave yourself here if you don't want to get hurt! If you don't listen, I'll kill you!"

Meng Nianchu hung her head, secretly sizing up the surroundings.

The room was empty.

The hot - tempered man still seemed unsure. He sized up Meng Nianchu from head to toe and suddenly noticed the watch on her wrist. He grabbed her arm and examined it carefully.

There was nothing special about it. It didn't seem like a device for sending a distress signal.

He looked at Meng Nianchu and reached out to take off the watch forcefully.

Sensing his intention, Meng Nianchu pleaded with a sob in her voice, "This was a gift from my mother. Please don't take it away."

The hot - tempered man paused.

Meng Nianchu looked at him with tear - filled eyes. "I'm already here. How can I escape? Let me keep it as a memento. Please."

Facing Meng Nianchu's tearful plea, the hot - tempered man remained expressionless.

The men standing at the door urged him instead, "Come on, it's just a small watch. It can't make calls or do anything. Don't be so paranoid."

"Let's go. I'm all sweaty after a long day. Let's go have a drink!"

Seeing that the man still didn't move, they went up and dragged him out forcefully.

The sound of the door being locked came from outside.

As soon as the men left, Meng Nianchu's expression changed instantly. She looked around warily, suppressing her fear and thinking hard about how to escape.

Her hands were tied together, so she couldn't reach the watch on her wrist and send her location to Mu Junze. She had to find another opportunity.

Leaning against the cold wall, the icy touch seeped through her thin clothes. Meng Nianchu pressed her lips tightly together, looking at the closed door with a shadow in her eyes.

What should she do?

All the way here, she couldn't figure out who would go to such great lengths to kidnap her. Judging from the calmness of those men, she guessed they had planned this for a long time.

But who could it be? And what was their purpose?

Meng Nianchu slowly closed her eyes. In the quiet room, she could clearly hear her own heartbeat.

It seemed like an eternity had passed when Meng Nianchu, with a heavy head, heard footsteps outside. She sat up straight immediately.

The hot - tempered man opened the door and came in first. He threw a takeout box in front of her.

"Eat quickly!"

Meng Nianchu looked at him. "My hands are tied. How can I eat? Are you going to feed me?"

Hearing this, the hot - tempered man frowned and walked up to Meng Nianchu, untying the ropes on her hands.

Meng Nianchu rubbed her red wrists.

The man said coldly, "Eat quickly."

Meng Nianchu picked up the takeout box and opened it. There was only a simple bowl of millet porridge inside. Seeing that the man still didn't leave, Meng Nianchu looked up at him.

"Eat!"

Guessing that he was worried she might cause trouble, Meng Nianchu lowered her eyes and ate the porridge in front of him.

When the porridge was almost finished, the man gave Meng Nianchu a long look before leaving the room.

This time, her hands weren't tied.

But she heard the man say outside, "Keep a close eye on her tonight. The boss said this woman is full of tricks. If you let her escape, I'll break your legs!"

He warned sternly, but the two men in charge of guarding were nonchalant. After the man left, they complained, "It's just a woman. What's there to be afraid of? I could take down two of her with one hand."

"I heard she's Mu Junze's wife. Look at her fair skin. The man tomorrow is really lucky. I heard she even has a child. You can't tell at all."

"It's a pity she's going to be sold here."

Sold?

Meng Nianchu's heart sank. From their conversation, she guessed a thing or two. She put down the takeout box and quickly pressed the button on her watch. A faint blue light flashed, and she let out a sigh.

She silently prayed that Mu Junze would see the location she sent and come here soon...

Leaning back, Meng Nianchu's nerves were on high alert.

He must come quickly!

Just two minutes after Meng Nianchu sent the location, Mu Junze, who was still investigating the cameras near the filming crew, heard his phone beep. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a blue light. He grabbed his phone and unlocked the screen.

Sure enough, it was the location information sent by Meng Nianchu.

It was already late at night in Linhai, but Mu Junze didn't care. He immediately called the security guards of his company and told them to meet him at the commercial street and go somewhere with him.
