Chapter 117: Threatened by Her

Hearing this, Linda's expression stiffened even more. Then, she quickly reacted and shook her head repeatedly. "I don't know them!"

"I just happened to overhear some guys talking about it when I was out shopping. I remembered it. Those guys looked so menacing that I didn't think they were joking. So I tried to tell you about it."

After her hasty defense, she nervously looked away. "I really don't know them."

Mu Junze had absolutely no good impression of this woman. He didn't believe a single word she said. He took a big step forward, his eyes cold, and threatened, "If you're involved in this, I'll never forgive you. And stay away from Meng Nianchu!"

"Junze!"

Since he couldn't get the answers he wanted from her, Mu Junze didn't want to waste any more time with her. He turned around and was about to leave when Linda quickly grabbed his arm.

"You must be extra careful when you go out these days. Those guys are ruthless. Keep an eye out. They must be furious that you got away unscathed this time."

Linda tightened her grip on his arm, her eyes filled with concern.

Mu Junze abruptly shook her off and strode towards his car.

Watching the black luxury car gradually disappear from sight, Linda swallowed the words of concern that were on the tip of her tongue. Hatred welled up in her eyes.

Why did Mu Junze only have Meng Nianchu on his mind when she had done nothing?

If it weren't for her tip-off, Mu Junze would have been beaten to a pulp by Jin Hui!

Linda let out a long sigh. Her little hand dropped to the side of her dress when she suddenly realized her phone was gone.

Meanwhile, in Mu Junze's company not far away, Tracy was looking at the location of Linda's phone on the screen while working. Suddenly, the screen went black, and a message saying "No signal" appeared.

...

Although Linda resented Mu Junze for only caring about Meng Nianchu, she was relieved to know that Mu Junze had heeded her advice and prepared for the ambush in the underground garage in advance, coming out completely unscathed.

The alcohol was getting to her. Linda hailed a taxi in a daze and headed back to the villa.

As soon as she entered the living room, she was suddenly yanked to one side.

Jin Hui slapped her hard across the face. "Did you, you bitch, leak the information?"

Her cheek stung like fire. Linda covered her face and looked at Jin Hui blankly, not knowing what had made him so angry.

Jin Hui's fat face was flushed with anger.

"How did Mu Junze know about my plan to take him down in the underground garage in advance? Did you tell him, you bitch?"

After saying that, he grabbed Linda's chin tightly. "I saw the worried look on your face when you heard that Mu Junze was injured in the warehouse. Have you known him all along?"

"No, I haven't."

Jin Hui's grip was incredibly strong. Linda's eyes welled up with tears from the pain. Her red lips trembled as she tried to pry his hand off.

Jin Hui raised his hand and slapped her again.

Linda suddenly collapsed to the ground. Her ears were ringing, and there was a strong metallic taste in her mouth.

"If you hadn't told Mu Junze, how would he have known about it in advance? How would my men have been injured by his? Don't you forget that I still have something on you. If you don't do as I say, I'll make your life a living hell!"

"Cough, cough." Linda coughed twice. Her eyes were filled with tears as she turned to Jin Hui pitifully. She took his fat hand in hers and pleaded, "How could I tell others about your business? I don't know Mu Junze. I didn't even know what you were planning. I knew nothing about this from start to finish. How could I have told Mu Junze?"

"I have such a bad relationship with Meng Nianchu. Mu Junze is Meng Nianchu's husband. How could I betray you and tell him about this?"

"You've really misunderstood me."

By the time she finished speaking, she was choking back sobs. She moved closer to Jin Hui, and a teardrop landed on the back of his hand. "I've really been wrongly accused."

Jin Hui gasped for air, his chest heaving. He glanced at Linda. Seeing how pitiful she looked, he couldn't bear it. After all, she had been with him for a year. He pulled her up from the ground, but his words were still harsh. "I'll look into this thoroughly."

Linda took the opportunity to sit on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I would never do such a thing."

Normally, Jin Hui would have been unable to resist Linda's advances. But with the news that Mu Junze had injured his men, he had no desire at all.

He had received a call as soon as he woke up this morning, learning that Mu Junze had been prepared and had even taught his men a lesson. Only he and his men knew about this plan. How did Mu Junze know in advance?

He was completely puzzled.

Looking sideways at Linda sitting on his lap, he still couldn't fully trust her.

At this time, the tall man standing in front of Jin Hui spoke up. "Boss, this plan didn't work out. Mu Junze will be on his guard now. It won't be so easy to deal with him next time."

Jin Hui knew this all too well. He had almost been taken down by Mu Junze in the US. He was so angry that such a good opportunity had been wasted yesterday!

Linda lowered her eyes as she listened to their conversation, pretending not to be interested, for fear of arousing their suspicion. But she pricked up her ears, just in case she could help Mu Junze if they tried to harm him in the future.

But after what happened yesterday, Jin Hui no longer trusted her completely. He leaned back and said coldly, "Go upstairs."

"I..."

Linda instinctively wanted to make an excuse to stay, but before she could say a word, Jin Hui gave her a warning look, and she swallowed her words.

She got up awkwardly and shuffled towards the stairs.

The tall man suddenly said, "Boss, Sister-in-law is one of us. Why are you in such a hurry to send her away?"

Hearing this, Linda stopped and turned to look at him.

Jin Hui rubbed the Buddhist beads in his hand, waiting for the tall man to continue.

Sure enough, after giving Linda a meaningful look, the tall man continued, "Since Sister-in-law and Meng Nianchu are in the same crew, Mu Junze will definitely visit the set. This gives Sister-in-law a chance to get close to Mu Junze."

He paused for a moment, his expression turning even more sinister. "We just got a new batch of goods. I heard the stuff is pretty strong, but no one has dared to try it yet. If Mu Junze gets hooked on it, even if he doesn't die, he'll be addicted. And since we have all the goods, we can make him do whatever we want. It'll be much easier to avenge what happened to us in the US."
