Extra Chapter 20: Just Seeking a Clear Conscience (Thanks to winnie1001)

Wu Luoluo grabbed Shangguan Yun's cold hands tightly and asked with a trembling voice, "Why didn't you wake me up? Your hands are so cold!" He must have been so cold that he lit a bonfire for warmth. She didn't know how long he had been exposed to the cold wind. Why was this fool so reluctant to wake her up?

"I'm okay. Don't worry about me!" Shangguan Yun smiled gently, tidying up Wu Luoluo's messy hair. Then he took her hand mysteriously and said, "Come here. I'll show you something!"

Following his gaze, Wu Luoluo saw a fat gray rabbit tied under a big tree. The rabbit was curled up in the snow, looking extremely cute.

Seeing Shangguan Yun's proud face, waiting for her praise, Wu Luoluo couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Sir, you're so amazing!"

"Of course!" Shangguan Yun's eyes curved into crescents as he planted a gentle kiss on Wu Luoluo's hair.

Both of them instantly froze. Shangguan Yun didn't expect himself to make such an intimate move instinctively. He felt a bit abrupt towards Wu Luoluo. He quickly lowered his head and took two steps back, then changed the topic. "It's so cold. Maybe we have to stay here for the night." After saying this, the atmosphere seemed to become even more ambiguous.

Seeing Shangguan Yun take two steps back, Wu Luoluo felt a twinge of sadness in her heart. She pretended to be calm and waved her hand. "You didn't soak your feet for two hours today, and you caught a cold during the day. Go and get the copper pot out. Let's boil some medicine and soak for a while."

Shangguan Yun was a bit reluctant, but seeing Wu Luoluo's insistence, he didn't dare to decline. He got up to move the copper pot, gather firewood, light the fire, pour in the herbs, fill the pot with snow, and slowly boiled the medicinal soup.

Wu Luoluo wasn't idle either. She took out the medicine jar and boiled some Chinese medicine for him. Then she skinned the rabbit, gutted it, and put it on the bonfire to roast slowly. After finishing all these, Wu Luoluo cut down a few tree trunks and built a simple shed over the copper pot to block the wind and snow. In this way, the sir could be well protected from the cold during the medicinal bath.

Watching Shangguan Yun reach out to help build the shed and then go back to the bonfire from time to time, Wu Luoluo carefully hid her feelings.

If the sir remembered his past and had to leave her, and if she could only accompany him for a few short months in this life, it was only because of their lack of fateful connection. She, Wu Luoluo, would take good care of him whole - heartedly, just seeking a clear conscience, until he no longer needed her.

"What are you thinking about?" Shangguan Yun was holding a bowl, blowing on the Chinese medicine gently. He raised his eyebrows and glanced at Wu Luoluo, who seemed to be lost in thought. Why did this girl look so desolate?

Wu Luoluo quickly put away her dejected look and explained awkwardly, "Nothing. I just dreamed of my master when I was sleeping."

"Do you miss Master Wu?" Shangguan Yun reached out and gently patted Wu Luoluo's shoulder, comforting her in a low voice. "After the war here is over, we'll come back and offer incense in front of Master Wu's tomb, okay?"

"Okay." Wu Luoluo nodded vigorously. The sir was willing to accompany her to offer incense in front of her master's tomb. At least at this moment, she was in the sir's heart, right? Watching Shangguan Yun drink the bitter medicine in one gulp and then stick out his tongue because of the bitterness, Wu Luoluo smiled. She picked up a knife, cut off a piece of the roasted rabbit meat, blew on it, and then brought it to his mouth. "Try if it's cooked."

Shangguan Yun took a big bite. His dark, inky eyes sparkled as he looked at Wu Luoluo, with joy clearly showing on his face.

Even her master had praised her roasted rabbit meat back then. Wu Luoluo turned her eyes and smiled. She cut the rabbit meat into pieces and fed it to him. Shangguan Yun ate heartily, looking like a hungry baby bird. They chatted while eating, talking about the interesting things when Wu Luoluo went up the mountain to collect herbs with her master when she was young. They looked at each other and laughed. Wu Luoluo talked more and ate less. Most of the fat rabbit ended up in Shangguan Yun's stomach.

After the acupuncture treatment, it was time for the medicinal bath. Shangguan Yun frowned and carefully tested the water temperature in the copper pot. He said aggrievedly, "It's really too hot. Maybe I'll soak later."

Wu Luoluo shook her head firmly. "No!"

Shangguan Yun pouted and pretended to be angry. "Then why don't you soak with me and see? It's really hot!" Well? Soaking in the medicinal bath naked with Luoluo seemed not bad!

Wu Luoluo looked up at the swirling goose - feather snow and said speechlessly, "If you finish soaking for two hours earlier, you can go back to the quilt and sleep earlier, so as not to catch a cold. If you keep delaying, it will be even colder at night!"

Shangguan Yun felt like crying. In order to get back into the quilt and sleep earlier, he had to take off his clothes, grit his teeth, endure the heat, and step into the copper pot. Instantly, he jumped up and down because of the heat.

Wu Luoluo was sitting in the carriage, chatting casually with Shangguan Yun.

Shangguan Yun suddenly asked her, "Did your master know about the ambiguous relationship between your mistress and your senior brother before he died?"

Wu Luoluo was a bit speechless. They were just talking about the war in Jiangcheng. Why did the topic change so quickly? Moreover, she never expected the sir to be so gossipy! Her mistress only came back for one night, but the sir was so sensitive to notice something strange?

Could it be that that night, her senior brother and mistress... made some intense noises and the sir heard them? That would be so embarrassing!

But Shangguan Yun didn't think so. Now his heart was full of Wu Luoluo. On New Year's Eve, her senior brother had done such a thing to her! If he hadn't been there at that time, or if he hadn't suddenly regained his senses, the consequences would have been unimaginable! So, he had to find out about Wang Jiu. That guy dared to do such a thing to Wu Luoluo. He would never forgive him easily!

Wu Luoluo replied awkwardly, "Before Master passed away, they weren't like this..."

Shangguan Yun snorted. "Your senior brother has a bad heart. He can't be left alive. Maybe we should chop him up to avoid disgracing Master Wu's reputation." Next time he met that guy, he would drag Wang Jiu in front of Master Wu's tomb and clean up the disgrace for him!

Wu Luoluo remembered the fierce look on the sir's face when he killed people today like cutting melons and vegetables. Then she thought of Wang Jiu with his disabled arm. She covered her face in embarrassment and said, "You don't know. My master... wasn't good in that aspect. And my mistress was at the age when... After being seduced by my senior brother, they just... "

Hearing this, Shangguan Yun's face turned green. He asked speechlessly, "How do you know your master... wasn't good?"

Wu Luoluo sighed faintly. "How could I not know? The medicine I boiled according to the prescription my master made. I knew what it was for at a glance!"

So that was it! He had thought wrongly. Shangguan Yun said awkwardly, "For tonifying the kidneys?"

Wu Luoluo blushed. "More or less."

This was really speechless. Shangguan Yun lay on the edge of the pot, looking up at the snow - filled sky. He was thinking that maybe he should break one of Wang Jiu's legs. That guy dared to be unfaithful and immoral and have an affair with his mistress. He must avenge Master Wu!
