"Stop!" someone roared from behind. Immediately afterwards, a troop of cavalry quickly surrounded Wei Dongling and Jingzhe.
Wei Dongling glanced at the silver spears in those people's hands and silently sighed. Jingzhe was unconscious, and she was exhausted. Even though she had the small crossbow and the meteor blade with her, there was absolutely no way she could win here. Thinking of this, she could only resign herself to being taken back by this troop of cavalry.
Wei Dongling's hands were tied up. Several cavalrymen sized her up with lecherous looks in their eyes and exchanged glances with their comrades. Their vulgar and lascivious expressions clearly showed what was on their minds.
Wei Dongling didn't have the time to care about them. She saw Jingzhe being thrown like a piece of cargo onto the tall horse in front. Jingzhe's arm hung down, and bright red blood dripped all the way from his fingertips.
The group rode in a winding path for quite a while.
The rope in Wei Dongling's hands was connected to the leading horse that was running the fastest. Thanks to her quick steps, she didn't fall and get dragged all the way back. Not far in front of her, Jingzhe was on that fine horse. With a jolt, he fell off and landed heavily on the ground, lying motionless like a dead dog.
Suddenly, Wei Dongling remembered the first time she saw Jingzhe in the dungeon of the horse - training ground. After being whipped, he was covered in blood and lying silently on the cold ground just like today.
One of the cavalrymen saw this scene. He stepped forward to check and then bowed to the leader and said, "This man is dead. How about throwing him into the river?"
Dead? Wei Dongling's heart skipped a beat, and she felt extremely flustered.
The leader nodded slightly, indicating his approval.
Seeing that the soldier was about to kick Jingzhe into the cold river, Wei Dongling panicked. "Stop! You can't treat him like this!"
A voice in the crowd sneered, "Who would have thought this girl is so infatuated! Her lover is already dead. What's the point of burying him or not?"
This place was desolate. If Jingzhe was thrown into the river, it was likely that even his bones wouldn't be found!
Wei Dongling gritted her teeth and roared, "If you throw him in, I'll die with him right away!"
The leader laughed heartily. "Interesting. This little girl has a fiery temper!"
Wei Dongling glared at him angrily. "I mean what I say!"
Her feisty look made everyone burst into laughter.
The leader waved his hand indifferently. "Forget it. Take him back!"
"Yes!" Someone picked Jingzhe up from the ground like a dead dog and threw him back onto the horse.
Wei Dongling was extremely anxious but had no idea what to do.
There were several troops of cavalry patrolling in this mountain forest. It was very likely that their camp was not far away.
Please don't let me run into Yu Zixi! At this thought, Wei Dongling's heart suddenly trembled, and she felt a sharp pain.
Almost at noon, they finally arrived at the cavalry's camp.
Wei Dongling was pushed to the entrance of a tent deep inside the camp. Jingzhe was casually thrown on the ground.
"Go in!" A soldier saw that Wei Dongling was standing there looking at Jingzhe on the ground and refused to move. He stabbed his silver spear sharply and cut off a wisp of her hair by her temple. Frightened, Wei Dongling turned pale and had no choice but to walk into the tent in front with her head down.
"Who is this?" A hoarse voice sounded.
Wei Dongling looked up and saw an extraordinary - looking general walking over not far away. Besides his armor, he was wearing a black cloak that covered his whole body, not even a finger was exposed.
The man was wearing a ghost mask, and a sparse and grayish - white beard was visible under the mask. The eyes on the ghost mask were eerie and terrifying. Just one look was enough to send shivers down one's spine.
A subordinate reported, "Your subordinate pays respects to the Flying General! Your Excellency, this man is a spy from the enemy army. He secretly sneaked into the confidential area last night and burned our army's granary. We wanted to capture him and torture him, but unexpectedly he died on the way."
"An enemy spy? Throw the dead body into the mass grave!" The Flying General, with the ghost mask on his face, made an extremely harsh sound from his throat. His cold eyes fell on Wei Dongling, and he asked, "And who is this?"
Dead? Mass grave? Hearing this, Wei Dongling's heart was pounding like a drum. Looking at that eerie ghost face, she couldn't help shivering.
"Your Excellency, this person is the spy's accomplice."
"Accomplice?" There was a sarcastic smile in the Flying General's voice. He coldly ordered, "Bring her to my tent."
"Yes!" The two soldiers took their orders and escorted Wei Dongling with their silver spears towards a tent in the middle of the camp.
This military tent looked exactly the same as the other tents on the outside, but the layout inside was quite different. It was also fairly clean and tidy.
The Flying General walked into the tent leisurely. He told his men to throw Wei Dongling down and then waved them away. Then that ghost face got closer and carefully sized Wei Dongling up from head to toe.
With her hands tied, Wei Dongling took a step back, looking at the ghost - faced man in front of her in horror.
Without saying a word, the Flying General took out the meteor blade from her right wrist and played with it carefully. His fingers were exposed for a moment. They were fat and rough. The Flying General cackled strangely. "This knife is good. It's a pity for you to hold it."
Wei Dongling kept silent, secretly worrying about Jingzhe. He should have been thrown into the mass grave by now! What should she do? If no one saved Jingzhe, he would surely die! Wei Dongling was secretly anxious. After a moment's thought, she put on an ingratiating smile and said softly, "F - Flying General, this little girl wants to go to the toilet."
The Flying General stroked the meteor blade carefully and ignored her.
Wei Dongling called out again, "Flying General, this little girl is in urgent need to go to the toilet!"
The Ghost - Faced Flying General turned to look at her and said in a strange tone, "Go." Then he told the guard at the door to take Wei Dongling out.
Just as Wei Dongling was about to move, the Flying General walked up to her and whispered in her ear, "If you dare to play any tricks, I'll personally use this top - grade dagger to take out your accomplice's heart and lungs and feed them to the dogs."
Wei Dongling shivered and forced a pale and embarrassed smile. "Your Excellency, please rest assured. This little girl will naturally not do such a thing."
"That's good!" The Ghost - Faced Flying General waved to the man at the door and ordered, "Go and take out that dead spy and guard him strictly. Remember! No one is allowed to take the body away!"
"Yes!"
Wei Dongling wanted to cry but had no tears. She was taken to the latrine under someone's watch.
The small crossbow in her clothes was still there, but she didn't dare to act rashly. This Flying General exuded a fierce aura. As soon as he made a move, he took away her meteor blade. Wei Dongling was really afraid that if she made a wrong move, even if Jingzhe still had a breath left, she would kill him.
She could only look for another opportunity to launch a surprise attack.
The guard took Wei Dongling back to the tent entrance. Just as he was about to lift the curtain and step in, suddenly a charming and bone - melting moan came from inside the tent. "F - Flying General, be gentle... Ah - it hurts..."
