Chapter 40: The Wronged Souls

Everyone was attracted by the sound and looked towards the stairs in unison. When they saw who it was, Ning Yitao exclaimed in surprise, "Why are you guys here?"

It was Duan Qinghuai and Mu Momo. After the director was arrested and went missing, the program was in chaos and there was no one to manage the scene. They were very worried about Ning Yitao's safety.

They found a car on the spot and rushed over in a hurry. In front of the astonished looks of those spiritual mediums outside the door, the son of good fortune easily pushed open the big door.

Mu Momo even tried to seek help from other spiritual mediums, hoping they would go in with Ning Yitao.

Before the door was opened, they had excuses to decline, but now that the door was open, they all fell silent.

After she knew that seeking help was in vain, she realized they could only rely on themselves.

Duan Qinghuai had run all the way and even left Mu Momo behind. Holding onto the stair railing, he looked at Ning Yitao with burning eyes and gasped, "I finally made it. I'm glad you're okay. I'm here to accompany you."

Ning Yitao's first reaction was to refuse, but then she changed her mind and replied, "Okay, then come with me."

The confused Ji Wangqiu stood between them, watching them talk to each other from a distance without even caring about him.

Something was wrong. What did it mean? What did he mean by coming to accompany Ning Yitao? Why?

Ji Wangqiu looked around and found that no one cared about him. He couldn't help but point at Duan Qinghuai and asked Ning Yitao in astonishment, "Who is he?"

Ning Yitao glanced at him but didn't want to introduce him. Instead, she introduced Ji Wangqiu to Duan Qinghuai, "This is someone I knew before. Let's go in."

At this moment, during their first meeting, Duan Qinghuai couldn't hide his joy on his face when he heard Ning Yitao's different treatment.

He even looked at Ji Wangqiu provocatively, and the sense of crisis he had towards Ji Wangqiu disappeared instantly.

The confusion on Ji Wangqiu's face grew stronger. The sense of crisis didn't disappear; it just shifted from Duan Qinghuai to him.

Before he could figure it out, Ning Yitao placed her hand on the doorknob and pressed it firmly, "Let's go."

The moment the door opened, a overwhelming wave of resentment rushed towards them.

Ning Yitao's face became solemn. She pulled Duan Qinghuai and took the lead to walk in.

Ji Wangqiu saw their hands clasped together and was stunned. A million questions welled up in his mind,

but it was obviously not the right time to ask them.

He had to hold back and followed them in. After closing the door behind him,

Eve and the others outside the door immediately heaved a sigh of relief.

The door was like a shackle set by Lady Alexia on these wronged souls.

It was the first time they had directly faced such a huge amount of resentment. If it weren't for Ning Yitao, they might have been crushed by the resentment without any resistance the moment the door opened...

******

As soon as they entered the room, they saw pairs of red eyes in the darkness. There were so many of them that it was creepy. Their eyes were filled with madness and hostility.

Sure enough, live - streaming was impossible under this magnetic field.

The camera that had followed them in suddenly seemed to run out of power and dropped vertically to the ground. At the moment it cracked, it emitted a faint light.

By the faint light, they could see that the wooden floor had turned black.

These wronged souls maintained their appearance before death, with wounds all over their bodies. Drops of blood splashed onto the floor.

The whole room was completely silent, and the atmosphere was tense. It seemed that the smell of gunpowder had filled the invisible space, ready to explode at any moment.

The blood had soaked into the floor for years and didn't fade. As time passed, the blood turned black.

Ji Wangqiu began to feel uncomfortable as soon as he entered this room.

But the son of good fortune was not just a title. Duan Qinghuai showed no reaction at all.

Ning Yitao silently clung to Duan Qinghuai. In this room, relying on his good fortune, she could stay more awake.

After Lady Alexia entered, these wronged souls took a few steps back. She said,

"I'm very troubled. All I can do to them is to seal them up. Their resentment is too heavy. I've tried countless ways but still can't resolve it."

Unexpectedly, one of the wronged souls said arrogantly,

"What? The noble Lady Alexia. You've brought someone to see us this time. Aren't you on our side? If it weren't for you, how could we have killed those so - called powerful and wealthy people so easily?"

Lady Alexia seemed to recall something. She frowned and retorted, "They deserved to die, but you shouldn't have pestered my family descendants."

"Hey, look at our noble lady. She turns her back on us so quickly. We've killed all the so - called nobles. Only your family is left. What makes you think you can escape? We won't stop until your whole family is dead."

"You hated them too back then. Why did you change your mind when it came to yourself? You're really so hypocritical. We still remember your kindness in strengthening our resentment. It's wrong of you to lock us up now."

Lady Alexia seemed to want to say something else.

Ning Yitao stopped their endless mutual ridicule. After all these years, neither side was willing to give in to the other.

"Stop. I don't want to comment on your grudges. I'm here for one thing: to lift the curse."

The leading wronged soul sneered,

"Do you think it's that easy? It all started with her, so it must end with her. Either we take her away and die together, or she stays and her descendants die in her place. Let's see how she chooses."

He laughed wantonly, full of confidence. No matter how she chose, they wouldn't let it go easily.

Ning Yitao knew when she came in that this room couldn't hold them for long. The seal was already cracked and on the verge of collapse.

If they hadn't come today, Lady Alexia alone couldn't have reversed the situation.

Ning Yitao also knew that the wronged soul was right. Even if they could dispel their resentment, either Lady Alexia or the Allen family had to die.

"You choose, Lady Alexia." Ji Wangqiu said firmly.

Lady Alexia hesitated for a moment, undecided.

But then she thought of her relatives who had been brutally killed while trying to save her. Finally, she made up her mind. She looked at Ning Yitao with a determined look in her eyes,

"Come on. Since it all started because of me, I'll bear the consequences myself."

The wronged souls were very disdainful. They thought it was really pathetic that she had found a young girl to support the scene. Soon, very soon, they would escape...

Before he could finish thinking, he saw a big hole in his chest shining with golden light from the corner of his eye.

He looked up in astonishment and found that his brothers around him were all injured in the same place.

Ning Yitao had actually pierced Lady Alexia with a peach - wood sword. She was the energy source of these wronged souls. If she died, they would all die.

The main reason she was able to hurt Lady Alexia this time was that the original owner actually had golden blood, which could destroy all evil and hidden things in the world.

Just now, she had broken the talisman that covered Duan Qinghuai's good fortune. Although it was just a peach - wood sword, after Ning Yitao injected spiritual power into it, it was like a sharp blade that had been unsealed.

She cut her own hand and smeared the blood on the sword. With the help of the merit power on Duan Qinghuai, she was able to hurt Lady Alexia.

This time, these wronged souls were really scared. They let out hoarse roars, full of unwillingness. They rioted and tried to stop Ning Yitao, their faces twisted as they swarmed forward.

A towering wave of resentment erupted from this room.

Zhaocai and Ji Wangqiu immediately stepped forward to resist.
