Chapter 155: The Sun

Just because the others didn't understand didn't mean Ning Yitao didn't.

The solemn and orderly voices of the villagers rang in Ning Yitao's ears:

"Dear God of the Sun,

Shining upon all things, burning all things.

The darkness fades away, burning the rotten bodies.

The sleeping souls awaken once again."

Their voices were low, the tone like a murmur.

As they chanted, the sun's brilliance gradually rose. The sunlight seemed to favor the villagers especially, and then an inexplicable scene appeared.

The newly - risen sun didn't love all equally. After the villagers' prayers, it only shone on the village.

Apart from the village, the other places were still immersed in darkness. Before the villagers even spoke, there was still a bit of dim light where Ning Yitao and the others were standing. Now, it all disappeared and gathered towards the village.

This phenomenon left everyone on the scene stunned. No one had expected that the sun, which was supposed to love all equally, would be partial now.

Compared with the smiles on the villagers' faces,

Ning Yitao sneered contemptuously and calmly said,

"How selfish they are."

The villagers clasped their hands together and knelt down towards the rising sun. Everyone's head was tightly pressed against the ground, and no one made a different move.

The villagers showed extraordinary unity at this moment.

Everyone was attracted by this phenomenon and stopped what they were doing, all looking in the direction of the village.

The director's team thought that this journey had allowed them to film such a wonder. They didn't notice anything wrong at all and were secretly glad that this trip was really worth it.

But Eve noticed. She tugged at Ning Yitao's clothes and whispered,

"Originally, the staff of the program group only needed to bask in the sun to disperse the yin energy on them. But after what the villagers did, the yin energy on the staff has been increased again."

Eve was worried, while the people in the program group seemed like nothing had happened and only cared about the footage in their hands.

Ning Yitao looked at the kneeling villagers in front of her, hooked the corner of her mouth, and said maliciously,

"Yes, being so selfish won't do. Greed will be punished."

As soon as Ning Yitao's voice fell, the sunlight that had gathered in the village disappeared in an instant.

The sunlight returned to its normal state, and Eve felt that it suddenly brightened up around them.

"Wow, the punishment came so quickly."

Eve blinked in surprise. Ning Yitao didn't say a word, but the smile in her eyes was evident.

Sure enough, as soon as the villagers saw that the sun they had summoned was gone, they panicked.

They all stood up in a hurry. Every face showed helplessness. They looked at each other, not knowing what to do next. It seemed that it was the first time they had encountered such a thing, and the atmosphere suddenly froze.

Finally, an older man in the crowd knelt down with a thud first.

Then, like dominoes, one after another, they all knelt down.

They kowtowed desperately to the ground. No one dared to be smart. Each kowtow was very loud, with dust flying. Their foreheads were covered with dirt.

Because of the excessive force, the dirt and blood mixed together and flowed down their faces. At first glance, it looked like black blood.

They were mumbling, asking for the forgiveness of the God of the Sun.

Ning Yitao found it ridiculous.

"The God of the Sun? Who on earth made up this character for them? It's just a formation, but so many strange characters have been attached to it."

Just the actions of the villagers were enough to hit the living beings around them.

They selfishly occupied the sun supply that originally belonged to this environment.

Ning Yitao looked towards the mountain forest behind her.

Sure enough, the trees behind them showed signs of decay.

Although on the surface, they looked lush and growing well.

But inside, they had been hollowed out. Now it was just a last flicker of life, and it seemed that they didn't have much time left.

Without the sun, the plants began to take root in the soil to absorb the nutrients inside. Since there was no nutrition on the surface, the roots, being spiritual, desperately extended and spread deeper.

Excessive intake would make the land corrupt. The fortune of this land had been completely destroyed.

But these villagers only cared about immediate interests.

However, there was also a strange point. Staying under the sun for too long was not a good thing and might even cause a backlash.

But looking at the villagers in front of her, nothing seemed wrong with them. It seemed that the curse in the village was the problem, which made their actions so strange.

The scenes left the program group speechless for a while. They just quietly watched the villagers' actions.

After the villagers found that their pleas were useless, some emotionally - excited villagers even cried on the spot. Once the first person cried, the panic in the villagers' eyes was obvious.

They were like ants on a hot pan, wanting to find a solution but having no clue at all. They could only be anxious.

Children had poor psychological endurance, and their shrill cries pierced the sky, extremely miserable.

But why were they crying? Wasn't this the original state of the sun?

This made the spiritual mediums standing at the village entrance feel strange.

The director's team was afraid that something else might go wrong, so they stopped some spiritual mediums who wanted to go up and ask.

After that, the people in the program group got together to discuss whether they still needed to enter the village for the progress of the program. They had been scared by the corpse accidents in the previous episodes.

While the program group was discussing enthusiastically, Ning Yitao didn't care what they were thinking. She didn't like all those round - about ways.

Ning Yitao just followed her heart.

She walked straight towards the village and came in front of the villagers.

A sharp - eyed staff member saw Ning Yitao enter the village and immediately picked up the camera and followed.

Now, no one was discussing anymore. The crowd dispersed and all followed Ning Yitao's footsteps into the village. This time, there was no hesitation.

After all, who was she? She was the great Ning.

As long as they followed her closely, no staff member would get into trouble.

Ning Yitao's actions gave the staff great courage, and a large number of them followed in.

Just as the crowd entered the village,

Ji Wangqiu's car also arrived.

But now, no one was looking at him. Everyone's attention was attracted by Ning Yitao.

Ji Wangqiu got out of the car, observed the situation, and then silently followed the crowd into the village.

However, even when Ning Yitao came in front of them, the villagers ignored her and were still anxious on their own.

Ning Yitao wasn't angry. She cleared her throat to make sure that every villager present could hear what she was going to say next.

"I'm the granddaughter of the fortune - teller, Ning Yitao."

Just this short sentence instantly silenced the originally noisy villagers.

Ning Yitao's eyes scanned the expressions on each of their faces.

All she could say was,

What a good show.

Some people couldn't hide their panic on their faces, while others looked like they were about to be saved.

Ning Yitao smacked her lips. She had never seen such changeable expressions.

She directly picked a villager whose legs were still trembling and who was too guilty to look at her, and asked,

"Do you need any help?"

Anyone with a discerning eye could hear the indifference, even carelessness, in Ning Yitao's tone.

After Ning Yitao revealed her identity, that villager's legs slumped to the ground. He didn't have the strength to stand up anymore.

He lowered his head almost to the ground and didn't dare to look up at Ning Yitao at all.

The sweat on the villager's forehead was coming out at a visible speed. Ning Yitao found it ridiculous. It seemed that he had done something really immoral to be so afraid of her.

This made Ning Yitao even more curious.

Ning Yitao gradually approached, and the villagers naturally made a way for her. After all, no one present wanted Ning Yitao to target them.

The middle - aged man caught a glimpse of Ning Yitao's shoes getting closer and closer in his peripheral vision. His knees were constantly retreating, trying to hide himself.

He didn't want to face Ning Yitao.
